Paul, I’m not sure. I had seen it all over Facebook and the internet (without attribtution) before I clipped it to use here. I subsequently learned that it is “Black Christ,” an icon created by the rev. Canon Warner Traynham, former rector of St. John’s Church, Los Angeles, now the proCathedral of St. John. I wrote to him at the cathedral seeking permission but never received a reply. So… technically I probably ought to remove it. You might want to try to see if you can make contact with the artist.
